Bouraq Indonesia Airlines was an airline based in Jakarta, Indonesia. It operated regional and international services. Its main bases were Surabaya Airport, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, with a hub at Sepinggan International Airport, Balikpapan. Bouraq ceased scheduled operations in July 2005 and issued staff termination notices March 2006 after prolonged financial problems and successive failures to seek new investors. The airline was established in April 1970. It was formed as a private airline corporation by Jarry Albert Sumendap and is wholly owned by the Sumendap family[3], as is Bali Air. Bouraq ceased operations in July 2005 and Bali Air in March 2005 after prolonged financial problems.
